Why We Built This Site
Virginia offers several public access paths, yet each answers a different question. Sheriff's Records Management holds local reports, warrants, and local checks. Southampton's General District and Circuit clerks control filed charges and outcomes. Virginia State Police operates CARE and the Central Criminal Records Exchange, while VADOC covers state custody and adult supervision. The registry is a separate public-safety system. We bring the verified contacts, search steps, limits, and published charges for those offices into one county-focused reference.

What We Cannot Do
This is a privately run reference site, not part of a Virginia court, police agency, sheriff's office, or state department. Those boundaries mean:
- We do not retrieve criminal records or conduct official checks
- We cannot submit record requests or court petitions for a reader
- We do not issue certified orders, reports, or CCRE histories
- We cannot apply Virginia law to a specific person's case
- We cannot promise that an agency's live hours, charge, or contact has not changed
Only the maintaining office, such as the sheriff, a court clerk, or Virginia State Police, can issue an official record copy.
